About Your Therapist
Courtney was born and raised in the Chippewa Valley and is proud to support her community by helping individuals and families navigate life's challenges.
Courtney earned both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Wisconsin–Stout. She has been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) since 2011. Throughout her career, she has developed experience working with individuals across the lifespan and specializes in supporting clients experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, behavioral concerns, and family challenges. She also enjoys helping parents develop effective parenting strategies and build stronger, healthier relationships with their children.
Following the closure of Prevea Health/HSHS in Western Wisconsin in 2024, Courtney seized the opportunity to take her own steps forward by founding Steps Forward Counseling. This transition allowed her to fulfill a long-held professional dream: establishing a specialized, dedicated space for play therapy.
Courtney believes that counseling is a collaborative process and strives to help clients identify their strengths, develop effective coping skills, and take meaningful steps toward positive change.
Outside of her professional work, Courtney enjoys spending time with her children, boating, gardening, and crafting. She values creating meaningful connections with others and bringing warmth, creativity, and compassion into both her personal and professional life.
As a parent herself, she understands the daily juggling act and the joys that come with family life. She would be honored to support you, your child, and your family through the ups and downs of life.
