At Steps Forward Counseling, Courtney Hovland, LPC prioritizes creating a safe, welcoming environment for you and your child. Parents are always invited to join sessions to observe and learn about their child's progress. However, as your child grows more comfortable, attending therapy independently can be highly beneficial for their therapeutic journey. Courtney Hovland, LPC will never force a child to participate, instead allowing them to lead the session while ensuring a safe, supportive space. While play-based therapy might look like "just playing" to the untrained eye, please know that your child is doing significant, meaningful work during these sessions.
-
